Found this in my old portfolio the other day. This makes me miss drawing... currently im boiling fabric...yes BOILING lol! I'll post about the hot, steaming fabric soon with pictures.
Floating stripes all in Venice, Now on the catwalk with a small splashing of the ever loved Breton Top.
Create this effortless look anyway you want either chucking it over trousers, shorts, layering it, belting it, cutting it, tying it or just simply wearing it. The breton is a classic look and will never fade from a fashionista's eye. Just look how simple the breton strode down the catwalk this spring.
Margaret Howell tied it up with a simple vintage esque belt and a sailor jacket and a british seaside wet looking hairdo showing the classical breton preppy/sailor look.
Erin Wasson showed of a city chic boyish style of the oversized baggy breton with a modernised geometric cut to the pattern, and then throwing it over slashed white denim shorts. Audrey Hepburn does the Breton. Simplicity is the key with the stripes, no over doing with hair or make-up, attitude and style is all one need's with this classic. xoxo
Is it really bad of me to have only just found this photographer, Lauren Dukoff? I found her whilst browsing the wonderfull world wide web on www.DAZEDdigital.com, thank god.
Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's.
Given a camera at the age of twelve by her father (a cinematographer) Lauren has gone on to shoot for magazines such as Rolling Stones Germany and Tokyo covers as well as appearing in Dazed, Nylon and recently shooting Lady GaGa for The Fame Monster.
Kemp Muhl.
There are way to many pieces to post on here today of her work, so go take a look on her website and browse through her intimate reflections of those close to her www.laurendukoff.com
This makes me want to be a bird... a walking bird...a flying bird... any bird. What a headpiece! I could see Natasha Kahn (Bat for Lashes) wearing this beauty!
Okay so i made my (213) shapes! Now how to cart all of these to college? Me in my faux fur leopard print coat trollying 3 black binliners full of shapes on the bus and through the city. New trend alert - bag lady! What a sight!
So after wiping my brow i get there, slide shows on... tutors are talking and all us students look a wrek (this being the friday after the lovely student night thursday). So here we are being told to let go and be as creative as our little artsy selfs can be. Our goal... to create a 3d sculptural piece in your preffered area of work, mine being Fashion. I was getting very excited already having a million and one designs running through my head. So off we went ( i did some Lara Croft worthy moves to get to a mannequin in time...these being very scarse and all). Down i sat on the old dusty floor, sketchbook open pen scribbling down ideas and serious looking models. And voila, there it was! So on i go glueegun at the ready various shapes being thrown here and there. After six hours i was done, and looking pretty pleased with oneself! We did a little photo shoot, and i got a lovely friend to model for me, then after some photoshop fun here it is on Blogger. Hope you like it as much as i enjoyed making it!
Well we've gone through the 1950's, 60's, 70's and were recently hit on the shoulders with the sparkling 80's... but looking at these shorts I'm feeling some 1990's seeping into the fashion blood circulation, who would of thought!
This sleeveless polka dot onsie from Urban Outfitters is a beautiful adaptation of that mind tingling reflection of ones childhood, mother's dresses, the older sister's trousers... and not to forget your whole outfit... from dress, tights, shoes and then the little dotty mac rain coat to top the dotty look off!
On the Catwalk Luella blasts in for spring/summer '10 with a fresh and honourable take on the big polka. Models glide down the catwalk with a funky attitude! The whole s/s '10 collection is romantic and girlish, glowing with a youthfulness taste that shows the restless 60's gushing through!
This Topshop Jumper is one I'm debating over... to buy or not to buy!?? This is uber Polka and uber warm ... well not for ones tum!
